Emily Irene VanCamp who initially set out to become professional dancer, became interested in acting after she met her sister Katie on the set of the film Ladies Room. As she took acting classes as well, she also got guest roles on Canadian TV programs. Her appearances have been in a number of programs, including Are You afraid of The Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp's professional career began to take off when he was cast as Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. While receiving praise from the critics, but the show's low rating ultimately caused it to be cancelled after just nine episodes. In spite of her May 12th, 1986 birthday her actress was offered an appearance on Everwood in its cast as Amy Abbott. She was nominated to win 4 Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
